Welcome to the first Jewel Karate Group
Newsletter, we hope to produce this
Newsletter in the Spring, Summer and
Autumn of each year, as an opportunity
to inform our members and parents about
forth coming Jewel Karate Group events
and information.

Club Fees
As
from the 1st February 2008
the Jewel Karate Group is changing the
way to pay for karate lessons to a
monthly fee system for each of the Jewel
Karate Group clubs.
The fees
£15 per club will become payable on the
1st class of each month and
then will become due on the 1st
class of each calendar month thereafter
at a fee of £15.

Grading
The
Jewel Karate Group will hold Kyu(Senior
& Tabs) and Junior Grading on :-
6 week
rotation Junior Grading
3 month
rotation Junior & Senior Grading
Grading
application for all Senior and Junior
green belts and above must have :-
a valid
Scottish Karate-Do Federation licence.
clean white
(good fit) complete karate suit.
Junior
grading fee £10 - Senior & Tabs grading
fee £15

Gi & Obi
Karate suits (Gi) and grade belts (Obi)
– As from the 1st February
2008 the members of the Jewel Karate
Group will require to wear a clean, good
fitting, complete white karate suit to
all lessons, grading and events. The
wearing of t-shirts
under karate suit tops will be
restricted to club white or blue t-shirts.
All members will be required to wear a
good fitting grade belt with the correct
tab colours stitched on.

T-Shirts
Jewel Karate Group T-Shirts with the
diamond logo on the back will soon be
available in white or blue. Order forms
to follow soon...
|
|
SKF Events
We would like to see all our members
compete in the events organised by the
Scottish Karate-Do Federation and the
Scottish Karate Governing Body. There
are two types of events that members can
participate in :-
Kumite -
Competition fighting in sporting karate.
Kata -
Competition kata.
Competitions and Championships entry
forms and any information can be
obtained closer to the time of the event
from the instructor Alex Rorrison. The
criteria for the events vary between the
organizers and clubs, however there are
some criteria which must be met by all
athletes :-
a valid
Scottish Karate-Do Federation licence.
clean white

event entry fee.

The
Jewel Karate Group will be starting a
series of fundraising events and
activities, this is to start a program
of replacement of the hard impact
kick mats, focus mitts, end
of class sports equipment and the
floor mats at the Musselburgh
East Community Learning Centre. Your
help with this would be greatly
appreciated.

Leaflet
The Jewel
Karate Group will soon be issuing
leaflets on Grading Syllabus and
Training Instruction. A small fee will
be charged to cover the cost of printing
